Atlantic Yacht Documentation operates on the vessel owner's behalf to expedite the issuance of a U.S.C.G. Certificate of Documentation. The regulations governing federal vessel documentation date back to the 11th Act of the First Congress, making it one of the oldest functions of our government.

Since 1920, marine financing has been greatly enhanced through the availability of a preferred ship's mortgage. This type of lien provides lending institutions with the strongest sense of security in their collateral, in turn reducing overall risk and allowing them to lend more money to more boaters. These days, many if not most lenders, agree that a boat should be documented if it meets the U.S.C.G. criteria to do so.
